TWANG Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 I think I did pretty good. 95.00 shipped. used Pod 2.0 with stand and midi cable and power unit, plus manual. shipping was 18.00 so the guy did ok by me, I think. Unit and all stuff looks well cared for. I've briefed the manual and I can see it's gonna take a thorouh reading.. Plugged here into Exeter and tried both via preamp and bypass preamp. Pretty good sounds.. even though I think the previous user either left crap he never used, or had some awful taste. But it seems very good. I even clicked into what I almost would have sworn was Exeters own preamp cranked. As you probably know, I've got the marshall mods, and 1 12" speaker. So... How should I run it.. (I'll try all but..) The manual seems to indicate it can handle the Loop De Jr.. but should I look at it as a preamp bypass for most things.. or in the loop? I already think that straight into the preamp might be problematic.. I didn't mess with settings, but it seems the preamp after the pod adds some rather strange qualitys to the efx, at least. Wanna gimmee settings you use? That's cool, too. thanks... TWANG
TWANG Posted March 4, 2009 Author Posted March 4, 2009 oh .. one more thing.. the stand mount... the pod has two little rubber feet that stick into holes on the stand.. Is there a more secure way? I see two holes in the pods bottom side that line up with two of the stands holes.. maybe just a piece of rubber tubing stuck into those deep holes and through the stand? I don't suppose it will ever come leaping out of Exeter but.. security is nice. tWANG
Ricochet Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 Pretty good sounds.. even though I think the previous user either left crap he never used' date=' or had some awful taste. [/quote'] If I remember correct(sold mine a few years ago) there is a magic button-combo to revert to default factory-settings.
TWANG Posted March 4, 2009 Author Posted March 4, 2009 yeah I'm gonna look that up in the manual.. I was hoping it had that feature. TWANG
stumblinman Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 Hold down the up and down arrows when you turn it on to reset it to factory defaults. Also, hold down Manual when you turn it on to see what revision it actually is. 2.3 is the newest. I have a list of which cabinets are used on each default model, but I can't access my work email from home for some odd reason. I'll post that if you are interested too. There's some nice tones at www.customtone.com if you dig through all the junk. Enjoy! I love my Pod and wouldn't give it up.
Jazzric Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 Hey Twang , I hope this helps..go here http://line6.com/customtone/factorypresets/ scroll down to your pod 2.0 (7th one down) and download..Now your gonna have to maybe down load the latest Line6 Monkey to do this first.. All of this usb's into your Pod... This other site is good for basic various tones, but would shut the AMPS off and use the settings it self and let the EVJ do it's thang... http://line6.com/customtone/library/index.html?productID=6&type=user&compatible=1 (Customtone)
Jazzric Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 Looks like what StumblinMan said is easyer...check it out...
stumblinman Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 Since I mentioned this before, I thought I'd pass it along. stumblinman Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 Only other thing I'd recommend is trying out all 4 cabinet tuning models. A, B, C, D to see which one you like the best. It's explained on page 2 of the section "Scenario Two: Pod Plays Live"
TWANG Posted March 6, 2009 Author Posted March 6, 2009 hey thanks.. lots of good stuff there.. I'll get on it! TWANG
