WireWhipper Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Does anyone know where I can get a white or cream colored pickup switch tip that will fit the switch on a Chinese Epi Dot? I bought an Allparts metric tip and it was too small, and the Gibson switch tips are too large.
charlie brown Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Epiphone, or Stewmac...maybe? The other thing you could do, is just replace the switch...they're not expensive, really.. and if you put in a "Swtichcraft" you wouldn't have to worry about where to find a cap...all the Gibson and standard thread caps would fit. Just a thought... CB
generation zero Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 +1. Replace the whole switch. Problem solved.
Billy Dean Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Is it relatively easy to replace a switch on a dot?
charlie brown Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 The switch itself isn't that difficult. The entire wiring harness is a bit more problematic, not difficult to do, just more so, to get at! LOL! But...if in doubt, take it to a good repair person, and have them do it. If it was me, I'd have the whole wiring harness redone...with the new switch, and better pots, too. But, that's me. Twang does harnesses, "all the time," ;>)....he could help him (or you), out...I'm sure. And, for a fair price, too. CB
