amandaaahhh Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 My mum gave me this guitar when I was little, but she couldn't remember what type it was or anything. She got it from a pawn shop for little to nothing... Help with identifying?
GlennW Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 The body is an Epiphone mid-'70s ET-270. I believe the neck is unoriginal.
midiman56 Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Amandaaahhh ... Here's a pic of me playing that same guitar waaaaay back in 1971 or so (at about 15 years of age)! The good folks here in this forum did identify the model as an ET270 ... one of Epi's first "made in Japan" guitars. Yours does, indeed look like the neck was changed at some point. Use the search function at the top of the page and look for a thread entitled, "A Young Man's First Epiphone" and you will even see a page from the original 1971 Epiphone catalog showing the guitar. Just one example of the amazing amount of info available on this forum. Have fun! JIm
Big Country1281734142 Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 The neck looks like a Silvertone or something like it...
theboatcandream Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 The pickups look like the ones in my late 60's Aria.
amandaaahhh Posted March 8, 2009 Author Posted March 8, 2009 Yeah, my friend came by today and had a look at it and she said that the neck was definitely different than the one made for it. Can't find a serial number on it anywhere. The tuner knobs are for a gibson. I'd found the et-270 part yesterday after searching for like ever. Anyways, thanks for the help so far. =]
animalfarm Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 MIDIMAN! Thought of your picture immediately when I saw this pic. Well, amandaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh....Looks like you have an "parts-o-phone"?
