Carved top SG?

Checked it out in that "Lifestyle" thing up top there, and it's a very attractive guitar in an unusual sort of way...kinda like a "Boneyard" SG...got that tigerstripe thing Perry's guitar has, 24 frets, although it looks like the last 4 or 5 frets ight be a challenge for some players, B-Bucker pickups, nice.

Foo! There's no excuse for a Gibson at that price point not to have neck binding or individual volume and tone controls. I blow it a large and noisy Bronx Cheer! (and where's the "Smiley" for that anyway?)

I think these look amazing. I HIGHLY prefer individual vol/tone controls, however, and I think it could use a pickguard(maybe a SG-ized version of the LP style?). As mentioned before, neck binding.

But overall, VERY COOL.

I want something like this to be the dark fire SG. Same deep red and style as the DF, but this general concept.

I've liked the Diablo ever since the first pic I saw, fell in love with the thing when I saw one first

hand. Loved the red finish, didn't dig the gold hardware but it still works. I like this one too: in fact

I find it hard to decide which I like better. I do not understand only two controls on this model

however... The MSRP appears to be about $4442. on this new L'il sucker so I won't be purchasing

one anytime soon. For some reason Diablo's have shown up a time or two at a price in line with

what one would hope to pay for a nearly-new but slightly used Gibson, this release may cause an

upswing in their pricing. How long do you think we'll have to wait for a carved top Epi SG? Could it

even happen?

Who knows? Epiphone came out with the Prophecy series, and as stated, would Give a Gibster a run for the roses, but looking at this thing closer, it's setup is remarkably similar to an Epi SG Special, only difference is a setneck, and 2 extra frets...and the radically carved top. I like it, but it is a tad pricey (4500 bucks???) Please! A Les Paul CUSTOM is almost 2 grand cheaper, and 300 times the guitar that SG will ever be...still though...

Yeah' date=' just wish the bevels were deeper in the cutaways! The "Diablo" looks better, in that regard.

But, it's nice, no doubt!

I think they're exactly the same CB. It's just the angle and lighting making the Diablo's curves more pronounced. As ever, could be wrong tho...:-)

Maybe...but I still wish ALL SG's had the early '60's beveling, all around. It's just a my wish, I guess.

To me, it just looks better, feels better, and is the epitome of SG "Style."
