santacruzom
I have a late 70's Gibson S-1 that's missing the tune o matic bridge. I have the tailpiece. I haven't had much luck finding the right bridge. Anyone have any ideas? I would like an original bridge if possible. Thanks. Frank
rd_artist
Although the bridge is different, I believe a TOM bridge will work in your situation.
ksdaddy
Bridge #1 Bridge #2 No idea who made these but I think Schaller made the original ones for the S-1. These look identical anyway.
santacruzom
RD, A regular TOM doesn't fit. I bought one from Guitar Center one day thinking that it would work and found out otherwise when I got home. Thanks though. Ks, That's the one. Thanks for the links. santacruzom
Has anyone ever re-necked an S-1 with a standard LP neck? I really don't like the neck on my S-1 and would like to replace it. Anyone know of any reason why this wouldn't work? The thing I'm worried about is that there is no fretboard extension on the stock S-1 neck, whereas an LP neck seem to have a bit of fretboard over-hang. The S-1 pickguard closely borders the base of the neck. Just wondering if anyone has ever tried to do this. Thanks. Frank
