capn_gaz Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 Hi there, after coming home from a practice I noticed while setting the amp back up that the end of my blues custom footswitch has somehow snapped/fallen off (the end that goes into the amp - not that actual foot switch end). God knows how, but does anybody know if the ends are replaceable and fixable? It always seemed pretty cheap and nasty, but I dont really fancy buying a whole new one as I hardly actually use it - I'd just like it usable again. Cheers, Gareth
Sounds Expensive Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 Mine did the same thing, don't bother trying to fix it. Best Option: buy a TRS 1/4" plug (Neutrik for e.g.), cut off the old one, prepare the wires, solder the new one on and you're good to go for the next 50 years!
m-theory Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 Depending on how crappy the cable is, if the connector is simple 1/4" TRS, it's certainly easy enough to solder a new end on.
fenrirlupus Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 had the same problem with my firefly 30 dsp. the tip was stuck in the jack, so i had to open the back of the amp, pull out the tray, tilt the amp and lift contacts until the tip fell out. i then had to remove the trs plug from the end of the foot-switch cable, and replace it. i used one from radio shack... works fine.
fenrirlupus Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 seems strange... not an unusual problem? you mean i'm not alone? even though my amp is solid state? woo!
