TWANG 4 Report post Posted March 17, 2009 The Fender I was willing to try was out of stock at Sweetwater. So... I pulled the trigger on an in stock Epi Dove. The man said they check 'em out before they ship. I told him about the terrible necks at Guitar Denters acoustic collection and said I was mostly just not interested in having to send something back.. so.. fingers crossed. will be here the 19th, will review as soon as I get some time with it. pics, of course. EpiSheriMan 0 Report post Posted March 18, 2009 Guitar Denters TWANG Heheeeeee Guitar Denters, gotta love it. They should start a new marketing campaign selling all new guitars at second hand prices as they are often pretty beat up....
TWANG 4 Report post Posted March 18, 2009 It's so strange.. they have a luthiers bench right there.. yet not a single guitar in the acoustic room has ever had the truss rod tweaked.. and they're almost all off.. at least everything under 600.00 which is what I played. Two words.. showroom/warehouse. In the warehouse you discover what you find.. in the showroom you display what you know. I like Guitar Denter ok.. nice to have competition and options and all.. but jesus. If you're going to beat mom and pop I'd think knowledge and service would be at the top, not just piles of stuff. At Sioux Falls Music, you rarely find a guitar in the acoustic room that isn't set up and ready to be judged. This Dove will do me for now, but that's where I'm going next. bigtufguy 0 Report post Posted March 18, 2009 Not bad. I've actually heard of people who won't by a guitar sight unseen.
TWANG 4 Report post Posted March 18, 2009 I sure hate to do it with an acoustic bigtufguy.. but there just wasn't anything around beckoning. I figure I'll either get lucky.. and have a pretty nice 300.00 beater.. or a little less lucky and be a bit unhappy with the sound.. or it'll go back. That's about the range for what these guitars are or can be so... a little crap shooting wont kill a guy, I guess. Tomorrow, I'll know! TWANG
