Been wanting an Epiphone Sorrento for a while now. Tracking different auctions. Finally found one to go for.

I will send original pics when I get it.

This is a second, but the photos seem to indicate a clean guitar. When I get it I will try to decifer where and when it was made. I'm sure it's from 96-98 maybe 99.

The headstock sold me. I only bid on guitars that have a clean headstock. Kind of indicates that care was taken when changing strings.

No pickguard, I hope to pick one up on e-bay. I know a Sorrento pickguard will be hard to find.

Does any one know if a Casino pickguard would fit?

Lovely guitar! I've been looking out for one of these for years but I want a sunburst one. I imagine that Casino one would be the closest fit. Please let us know if it does fit. Otherwise you could always ask TWANG to make you a custom one. My dad has an ES 225T with a short replacement tailpiece and I've always wanted a similar guitar but i suppose it's really an ES-125 TCD rather than an ES-225TD.

Anyway, let us know what it's like. I think they're great looking guitars and I'm sure they're as well built as any Casino or Riviera from that era!

I know TWANG is pretty good with them. I will search for original first.

BTW, there is a sunburst up on e-bay right now from a newbie.

He wants $600 for it, which I think is high. Not enought photos for an accurate assessment of condition.

I would not buy the one I got for the original auction Buy It Now of $499.

Might be worth watching as he lowers his prices, and others convince him to post more photos.

I just saw that one. I love the Vintage Cherry and the Epi Bigsby. I hope to find an epi Bigsby for mine.

The photos look pretty clean. Not so sure about the headstock shot.

I'm sure this would be a great addition to your Korean arsenal .

The Sorrento was delivered yesterday. $316 with hardshell case. Verry, verry clean. Love the color.

Plays like a dream. Great condition for being marked "Second" and "Used". The only thing that was not disclosed was a repaired small neck crack which is not major. My guitar tech went over it and said it was solid. Smooth to the touch. The setup is great. No scratchyness to the electronics. Great P-90 sound. Even better than my Casino.

Really nothing that needs to be done. (For now, thinking Bigsby, new tuners)

That's gorgeous. I too love the wood coming through the colour on the back and the binding really shines against that colour. Congrats!

You've got me going now... I have been eyeing up a very battered 60s casino on ebay but might be tempted to go for that sorrento. I just think £500 is pushing the boat out for me. I'd take it at £400 I think.

If you can afford it, get one. These are beautiful and fun to play.

$316 did not hurt being 13 years old, in this condition and with a hardshell case.

The fit and finish are amazing. I like the fact that it has a repair, this way I dont need to baby it as much as I do the others.

At GC last week and compaired 2 new Sheratons side by side, one Ebony from China, one Nat from Korea (Peerless).

God, night and day. The setup of the ebony as bad. The finish was not perfect. Both for $699.(on sale now to $599)

I would rather put $300 into something like the Sorrento than a newer Epi product. (Right now that is)

I just found one for £450 and called the shop and they'd sold it in the last five minutes...

Is the neck identical to your Casino?

Yes, thin and fast. The only difference is the dot inlays.
