MaxHart85231281734137 Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 besides this being one of the most badass songs of all time does anyone know what kind of guitar he's using to record this song?
charlie brown Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Hard to say...He used Gibson's a LOT! LP (Gold Top), White SG Custom, ES-345 & 355...to name just a few. It almost sounds like, the SG or possibly a P-90 LP. But, that's just a guess. CB
charlie brown Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Yeah, there's a video on YouTube, where he's playing a Red ES-355 w/Maestro, into a Fender amp... maybe a "Quad Reverb" as it looks too tall to be a "Super Reverb." Seems to be a "Twin Reverb" next to it, too. Damn, I used to have a ES-355 Identical, to that one! Sold it...like and idiot! I've regretted that, ever since, and that was almost 40 years ago. LOL! CB
midiman56 Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 "Up all night with Freddie King, got to tell you poker's his thing!" I saw Freddy when he was the opening act for Grand Funk one of the gazillion times I saw them. That looks a lot like the set-up he was using at that concert ... tone for DAYS! As much of an inovator as he is, Freddy never got the recognition he deserved, IMHO. Great player, hard partier ... blues man! Jim
Gashole Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Great tune that one! I love Freddie's version, but my favorite all time is Jeff Beck Group doing it. He is so baddass! Great song.
