Well I don't know where else to put this and I'm no member of any other music forums. Anyway I have some trouble regarding blues. I know that when you play blues you use the minor pentatonic scale most of the time right? But what if the song is in a minor key? By far I've only come across major keys and the scale works fine, but I'm sorta stuck with the minor key at the moment. Forgive me if this is a foolish question and I did google it but I couldn't its always explanations for the blues major key, can't find anything on the minor key.

Heres a simple trick to kind of illustrate my point. Over the I chord play major. Over the IV chord play minor. And then for the V chord change keys and play within that chord. This is an oversimplified version of what maybe Freddy King would do.

Penetonic, schmenetonic....LISTEN, to the blues, man! Listen to all of it,

from every player, you can! Copy, what you hear, at first...then,

as your skills grow, and your "lick/phrase" vocabular increases,

you'll learn/FEEL, how to put something together that conveys

the emotion/feeling(s) you want. First and foremost, it's about Heart, and

feeling, what you play.

You need to work on your knowledge and get at least a basic understanding of your fretboard and how things work together before you can play by "feel". Random coments on a forum such as c Major = A minor are accurate but are probably just confusing you.

You are a perfect candidate for reading the Heavy Guitar Bible. It is a fantastic discussion on the basics and makes it fun to do. If you only read one "theory" book make it this one.

C major = A minor actually does make sense to me. I'm not good enough yet to play by feel. If I were I wouldn't be asking for help would I? :)

It was just an example, I'm glad you understand that particular concept but your original question led me to believe you could benefit from some real instruction rather than just piecemeal comments from a guitar forum - as helpful as we all try to be! #-o
