Guitar Chico Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/ESP-James-Hetfield-Iron-Cross-Electric-Guitar?sku=580896 It looks pretty cool but $10,000?! GC
Guitar Chico Posted March 29, 2009 Author Posted March 29, 2009 Well it is on clearance8-[ The funny thing about that is that it isn't even available yet and it's already on clearance... GC
midiman56 Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Quote from MF: "This is a very ominous guitar that will not be available for long." I'm scared already! Jim
matiac Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 I emailed Musicians Friend and said, "you're kidding, right?"
BlueLesPaul2006 Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 If it is on clearance now even before it is available what will it be in about 3 months when no one buys it? maybe they will drop the price to super clearance and give it away for $9000.
InsideMan Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 This is clearly a "What were they thinking?" moment. They are positioning this as a collectible. Well, there are things that come to pass in this world that I don't quite understand. But how many REALLY collectible ESPs are there out there? Just because I make something in limited quantities and sell it for big bucks doesn't make it collectible. GET REAL! And, oh yeah, Cheers.

Guitar Chico Posted March 29, 2009 Author Posted March 29, 2009 I could maybe understand making it somewhere around a thousand (about the price of most high end ESP's) but 10,000 is just ridiculous. GC

dawg086 Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 You could Ask For A Discount Because That One Is Clearly Scratched.
charlie brown Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 "Is It Really Worth That Much?" Only to the fool, who'd pay that, I guess? CB
animalfarm Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 The funny thing about that is that it isn't even available yet and it's already on clearance... GC [-( [-( Rather mezzzzed-up marketing technique... I think I would agree with the decimal point placement error - should be $99.99, (on Clearance, of course...). Why are we starting to see these loser guitars being thrown out to the masses? Gibby's "bunch-holes" gits, Zacky's "target on a git", now this?

Hey, my spell-checker says that narcotic painkiller is spelled wrong, hmm...my spell-checker know sumpin I don't? Let's see...Vikeohdin, nope, that aint right either. Ah well c'est l' vie! Did I spell that right? Spell-checker says I did.
rephil Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 Well, I don't know if it's worth their price, but I like the saying: "If you price something high enough, you only need to sell one."
Geff Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 Having reviewed the specs, I would say that that guitar should be priced around the $800 mark (because it comes with a case). If it were a Gibson, I would say maybe similar price to the Zak Wylde LP could be justified which is a rip-off but still under $5000. Look out for it in next years sales because I really dont see many people buying that one!
