Anyone else excited about this?

Yea, it's kinda off topic, but Les Pauls and Marshalls seem to always go together.

Anyone else excited about the Marshall 1959RR?

The price is steep, but I haven't bought a Marshall yet and Rhoads is my favorite guitarist (Not to mention he shares my love for white equipment). I feel like it is time to get my first Marshall and this be it. I always imagined my first to be... well... special. =D>

Now all you need is the polka dot V.

And +1 for Randy, one of the best ever. =D>

Yea, who makes that polka-dotted V with the "weird" headstock anyway?

----------

I wouldn't plan on giging with it because it would blow out any place I would play!

-------

From what I understand the amp has two settings. 1 is a regular 1959 model setting appropriate to the early 80's late 70's era (exactly like Randy's origional of course) and the other is his custom, hot-rodded channel that gives his signature tone and feedback.

To me it is a piece of the legend, and I haven't been able to snach a piece like the other fans have through the LE Jacksons and such, so now I may have that opportunity... If I can save a bit more $.

I know, he died just before they introduced the line (tough break). I wasn't sure if Jackson made him the polka-v, even though the headstock shape was not Jackson... or any other brand I'm familiar of for that matter. Anyone know that to win the RR obscure trivia for the day? ...Sorry, no prizes.

The 1959RR has a cascading preamp design if you plug into input II. Much like a Master volume amp. There is alot of info on Marshall's website and forums.

Yesterday I finally got my VM 2266 half stack and I just love that Marshall sound.

Tone bliss = Les Paul plugged into a Marshall

They had an article in Guitar World on this amp.... no master volume, so it's WFO all the time for the Marshall tone. If you aren't gigging out at fairly large venues, then plan on an attenuator too.

In any event, it sounds like it is gonna be a GREAT amp... post some audio when you get it, please!

Naaah, just use an MXR Distortion+ like Randy did.

If you want some audio, here is an idea-

here is Zakk's Review with some audio.

here is Doug Aldrich at the NAMM Show... looks like they used an attenuator, watch the Marshall guy during the solo. You can also see Randy's mom for a second in the beginning.

It looks like a nice amp. I agree about the white. If I owned this amp I wouldnt take it out very much.

"Dirty" white wouldnt do it for me.

Marshall got the sound right. It does sound very Randy, although I think the price is a little steep.

Its funny, I went on to You-Tube and saw a few demos. Guitar World explained that they couldnt

play any of Randys riffs because of copyright laws. How stupid is that?

Using a RR amp, and not being allowed to play his riffs on it. Is this what the music world has come too?

+1 and, while RR was a great guitar player, his tone didn't do much for me.

As for white amps, I own a 1980-something Marshall Microstack in white and it's tough to keep it clean, particularly the crevices in the tolex; you have to take a brush to it once in a while.

Rich...

Im with you buddy. Randy was a great player. I wore out Blizzard and Diary just to hear his chops, but

his tone was a tad too "tinny" for me.

What I wouldnt give to have his skills though.
