Was just in another forum "no names,no pack drill" but see Les paul, preceded by Live Sound Guy.

Made me very gald that there is a level of decorum and fair play in here.

People with extreme views get ignored...not pillioried as elsewhere

Just a thought!

the anonimity of cyberlife creates the illusion that the social skills many of us find pesky can be left behind. what becomes evident, however, is that any behaviour in any setting, be it online, at home or the office is merely a subset of civlized life itself and such nagging decorum is not only necessary, but inescapable.

there, now someone explain that to me. i cut and pasted it.

There are a couple things I wish would happen though. Not that me spouting would do any good, as the people who this applies to aren't likely to read this thread first.

1. Newbies (hate that word but it's now universally understood it seems) shouldn't have to apologize for their existence and ask permission to interrupt and ask us a question oh so humbly with hat in hand and eyes lowered. Some of us have been here a long time but there's no such thing as tenure, hierarchy, rank, class or any other stratification. One person's opinion is just as valid as the next and there are no such things as stupid questions. We may groan a little when "newbies" ask the questions about changing the tone via bridge pins, fading pickguards, nut material or some other much-discussed topic, but they obviously weren't in on any of the previous discussions, otherwise they wouldn't be asking now. I think us old timers need to be careful how we answer them; just because we've beat a subect to death doesn't invalidate it for future discussions and helping out the new people.

2. If someone buys an old Gibson (or anything for that matter) at a yard sale for $4.00 and they want info on what it's worth so they can list it on ebay or craigslist, then please be honest about it. No more "my father left this to me on his deathbed" stories please. We aren't so stupid as to fall for it. None of us are appraisers (that I know of) but we have enough geographic diversity that any one of us may have seen one similar in a store and can at least attest to what the asking price is. Also we have some excellent historians in this forum who are very willing to go over the photos and provide some very good information about such pertinent things as rarity and originality, both of which will influence the price and speed of sale. I do not know of ANY instance of members of this forum attempting to take advantage of an uneducated person looking to sell a guitar they got cheap. We may tease and make a joke or two but I don't think there are crooks here, so the take-home message is be honest with us when you're asking a question and we will collectively tie ourselves in knots to help you.

That's all that's p*ssing me off this morning (so far). I'll try to eat a candy bar so I can mellow out but I wanted to rant a little.

Oh' date=' one more thing...

Oh I wish I were an Oscar Mayer Weiner

That is what I'd truly like to be

'cause if I were an Os-car Mayer Weiner

Every one would be in love with me.

I'm not entirely sure but I may have some further unstupid questions tomorrow. I'm going to see those 2 Gibson 12 strings in Denmark St.

That'll be the question AJ

Now the problem is that when you want to ask it, KSD will be sleeping.

Good luck, I'd buy the 25!
