DJB08 Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 Hello Forum Friends... So, It's been very interesting to see the "Trouble with my Dot staying in tune" threads. It's funny how the Grover's come so lose sometimes. Mine are in need of a mild tightening for sure. Plus, I've yet to get a proper set up but, once the $$ is around for it. until then, it does work just fine... I'm still wondering what the Dot nuts are made of... But in reading one thread i saw the mention of Big Bends Nut Sauce. This is a new product name to me. I wondered how many other folks have used it and what their expirience has been. Basically I'm wondering "is it worth it?!!?!?!?" Thanks David
Geff Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 I havnt used it but in other forums (fora?) I have seen very mixed reports with some people swearing by it and others saying it is useless. I guess the truth is somewhere in between.
TWANG Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 I've never had a Grover slip.. the only thing I've ever done to them was tighten the button screw so the tension is the same for each tuner. I do notice that when you first adjust that screw tension, backing off the tuner, detuning your string, will reverse it and you have to tighten it again. But I've never had to do that twice, they seem to set up after the first time. Any good lubricant in your nut slots will allow smoother bends/whammys/even tuning.. and will slow down the wear and tear in the slots. So pencil lead, nut sauce, etc., all good ideas in my book!
