Eighthnote Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 This is actually a test to see if I'm following the tutorial written by "generation zero" correctly. The above is a guitar I found in a yard sale that was in very bad shape. There were no identification marks or tags at all on this guitar but everyone tells me it's some type of EPI Strat. After stripping the lousy black paint off and completely , and I do mean completely, replacing everything on this guitar this is what I came up with. 36 coats of clear and enamel, grover tuners, EMG active pups, new switches, tail piece...............everything except the frets. Surprisingly the neck was in pretty good shape. Then here below is my set neck double neck. I think this guitar was made in the mid-90's? Seem the white ones are a little harder to find. OK, lets see what happens here. Thanks Generation Zero.
clarkuss Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 You've passed the audition! We have images. I almost bought a double neck when i went through a Led Zep phase last year but thankfully I didn't buy it because I know I would NEVER use it. I still want one though!
TWANG Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 small pic hard to get a handle on the real color. I like the pup covers/guard/knob/switch tip combo. what's the whammy? import or corp. brand? If the wood looks real good I'd say you got more than you had a right to expect. If it just looks good/ok your basic guitar looks and sounds like a keeper to me.. congrats.. now have at that doubleneck. Not tryin to drum up business.. but I'd love to have an excuse to make a custom pickguard for that. If you ever have it apart, maybe you could send me a trace so I have the screw holes and dimensions.. I'd make it worth your while. TWANG

TWANG [/quote'] I'm assuming (which is the mother of all f*** ups) you are speaking of the strat color and pick guard? I'll give the pic another try. And I play the double neck more than most people would but sitting down........You can get pretty creative with 18 strings.
Eighthnote Posted April 1, 2009 Author Posted April 1, 2009 I might have to "move the "volume pot. The way I hold the guitar causes me to "accidentally" turn my volume down while I'm playing. I pull the knob off sometimes to keep that from happening but there goes my Jeff Beck technique all to hell.
