Epiphone Rivoli Re-issue: What's it worth?

I have an Epiphone Rivoli (one of the re-issued Japanese models) that I want to sell. But I have literally no idea how much it's worth.

Suggestions on a postcard...

I know they're pretty rare - and I'm sad to see it go - but the rent needs paying and music never did earn me much. ](*,)

Also they're not the most versatile of instruments - I used to gig with it, but my lord it used to boom! Lovely to play though, the neck is beautiful.

Welcome to the forum!

Those Rivoli's must be rare... no one seems to know anything about them! I remember seeing other Rivoli topic being started and not getting a single response with information. I'm not really sure how much they are worth, but it looks like they can be pretty expensive due to how rare they are. Then again, I'm no expert. I'm sure another member might know more.

Here's an ebay listing of the Rivoli to give you a bit of an idea:

(Edit: Whew... this price is way off!)

The EA series of guitars normally go for about 350-500 and the ET of the same era from about 350-400 so I'd say somewhere in the region of £350-500 would be a decent asking price for the japanese bass. I've seen the newport bass and similar basses of this era go for 200-400 quid.

Wow. Lucky I asked - I was originally thinking it would be worth a lot less than that

Thanks - you could have saved me a hefty bit of wonga there!

According to my most recent vintage guitar price guide; a Rivoli of that vintage is valued around $1700-$2200 in excellent condition.... Which that bass is not.

Beware of buying vintage guitars on eBay... They're almost always WAY over-priced...

The Rivoli re-issues of the 90's are bringing in $600 plus on EBAY and private listings I've seen. I paid $600 for a 1997 new condition Rivoli that even smells new! It plays and sound great although the Baritone button does not have the kick that the button on my EB-2DC has.

Good luck with the sale!
