FnGreg7
Hey all. I recently came into the ownership of an amp which is...suffice to say, weird. I have never heard of this brand, and I think it's a tube amp, but I'm not sure. It is a KMD GS45. Made in England, it says. It's kind of old. But, seeing as how I've only ever owned solid-state, I don't know if it is a tube amp. I assume it is because I once turned it on and moved it a little, and I got this racket sound like power wires snapping (y'know, like on power lines on the side of the road). It's also got monstrous reverb, so I'm thinking it might be tube... But, beyond all that, I've never even heard of this thing! Anybody know anything about it? sexygibson
Heres one on Ebay. Seller states that it is solid state. Looks like an o.k. amp and should be pretty good quality being built in England. http://cgi.ebay.com/kmd-amp_W0QQitemZ290309191243QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ20090410?IMSfp=TL090410154003r14838

Dave
The snapping racket when you move it tells me that it has a spring reverb. The reverb housing will usually be mounted in the bottom of the cabinet, sometimes covered with leatherette.
