krija67
Hi guys, just purchased my first LP, it's a 1997 Ltd Edition with (ZW EMG's installed(recently) and made at the Saien Plant in Korea. Awsome sound but has the original Tuners which are needless to say worn out. I need to purchase replacement's and would like to know what is recommended, ie direct replacement no drilling or mods required. Any and all success stories are appreciated, thanks. Kris P.S.would the OEM installed on the guitar currently, be the push on or threaded.
lpfan
I would install Grover's. I'm not sure about the hole sizes but I'm pretty sure that there is a direct fit for what you have. Good luck.
kevin kyle
i put gibson gold grovers on my lp. i changed all my hardware to gold on my 1996 lp standard trans amber, yea i had to drill out my hearstock cuz the green keys holes are too small...kinda scary but i used a nice sharp drill bit and went to town with great sucess. good luck. p.s. i put the 81 85 set in mine and it screams along with the tone pros locking tom bridge and locking tail piece and a graphthech graphite nut mine was built in the fine guitars factory. she is great now, i paid 300 dollars for it in 1998
coolcarl
ditto, i installed Gibson Deluxe tuners on my 96. What a nice upgrade! you will have to remove the bushings and drill the holes to 10mm, but it is soooooooo worth it. The old fake green keys just don't cut it. coolcarl
Most "Limited Editions" have unique finishes and custom hardware. Many (but not all) are limited production runs of only 300 units.
krija67
Ya, i really can't find much info on this thing, nor can anyone tell me what colour it is.Seems to be a cross between Cherry and Tobacco Sunburst, maybe? My avatar is the guitar in question.
