Tune o matic Bridge retaining wire Epi Casino

Hi. I just bought a new epiphone casino and as i'm left handed i had to remove the retaining wire from the tune o matic bridge to reorganise the saddles and intone the instrument.

the problem is that the retaining wire cant be put back in its place and the saddles now rattle a lot. Anyone knows how to put the retaining wire back in its place or if theres a way a can make saddles stay in place, because even with strings on saddles almost pop out of the bridge.

It's tricky but it can be done.

but boy it's sure hard to describe..

you have to sort of put a little bit of one end in a hole.. then wrap it over and stick a little of the other end in it's hole..

then push both in at once.

without bending it too much..

If you punch one end all the way in it's hole.. the other end just wont go it because the angle is changed at its point.

renanmartins, I myself have never been a big fan of the bridges that Epiphone puts on their electric guitars. If you've

been on the forum any length of time at all you will notice that many people complain about the rattle the bridge/saddle makes because of the retaining wire. Another thing I've noticed recently, which is really getting my goat, is that the screws on the lighter strings can moved when polishing your guitar even if slightly touched because

the retaining wire does not hold the screws as firmly on the first 3 strings (E, B, & G) as with the lower three strings

(D, A, & E...4th, 5th, & 6th respectively). This will knock out your intonation which unless you know what your doing

to correct it, can knock your guitar out of whack and then cause tuning problems. I wish they'd just install better tun-o-atic bridges on their electric guitars which would eliminate these irritating problems.:D

thanks for help, I managed to put the retaining wire back in its place. I also found that the saddles, even with retaining wire, are too loose, saw that its a common problem with tune o matics.. Well, read somewhere that dropping candle wax over the saddles may solve the rattling problem and at the same time make them less loose, what you think? Is it a good idea?

Why not just purchase a new ABR1 acoustic bridge....from Guitar Fetish or any of the others out there which are superior?

They are only like 24 bucks........less then the agravation you'll have and had.

Yeah, drip hot wax over the guitar or fingernail polish...why chance messing up your finish and it will look shoddy...

One could, in fact, REMOVE the bridge to apply either substance and the place it back on the guitar. The wax would look shoddy, but the polish would not be seen.

candle wax will just shrink.. any movement at all becomes permanent.

and it melts. go outside in the sun..you got wax reforming to no good effect at all.

also messy.

better go with clear fingernail polish or a different bridge.
