Dennis G
Hey' date=' Dennis, I'm confused. I'm pretty sure Phat Cats have the pole pieces in the center of the pickup, like other P90s. The pickups in the picture look like humbuckers. WTF?[/quote'] Good eye, and thanks. I talked with the guy that did the work. We had discussed about a dozen options on p/u's before deciding. I think I confused myself after a while :) Phat Cats were one of the "finalists" but I decided on the Custom 59's (can't remember why though). In any event, they're *****in', and even more so now that I know what they are LOL!!

GAS Panic!
Hmm, probably should've wiped the dust off before the close-up. Brand-new, first Epi, and was very happy with it till one of the pickups stopped working, but that's another story.

Elitist Casino, Elitist John Lennon Revolution Casino, Elitist John Lennon '65 Casino. I posted some pics of some other Gibsons and Epis in Svet's "Man I love the guitar" thread, too. jrich44
i see a lot of people have used the gibson style pickguard as a replacement for the standard one on their guitars. Is there anywhere i can purchase a left handed style pickguard for my dot? and could anyone suggest some slightly more attractive tone pots? Thanks
Doc Helliday
Hello, I'm new here. This is my Epi Dot Studio that I loving named "The GreTch." Its been Gretschified a little bit, and its my main workhorse.
Musicfox
Just a ordinary ebony Dot but does it ever sing. When I strike up the right notes or chords at gig volume on my Fender amp it just roars. Why would anyone play any other guitar?
Hungrycat
'07 Elitist 335 'Dot'. I dug up an Epi 'E' that I put on the pickguard. It looks so badass now. Sorry about the cell phone pic. I'm gonna take some real pictures of all my gear someday...

Why would anyone play any other guitar? One of my favourite performers' date=' Matty Rue Morgue of The Holy Kiss, rocked the ever living **** outta an Ebony Dot similar to yours. He played that stock through a kustom amp. Damn, could he get some evil blues tones outta it. IMO. Yes, but there's just something about him. Something around the eyes, I don't know, reminds me of... me. No. I'm sure of it, I hate him. Im a descendant of Mr. Holliday, Val's portrayal is my favourite of Doc. I would change my user name but i guess it doesn't allow that... lamesauce. Why Ike, whatever do you mean? StewartB
Better late than never. My '09 Epi Dot. I changed the wiring to the Gison 50s and upgraded the pots to CTS. Gotoh neck pickup in place of the Epi (keeping the epi neck pup for another guitar), new knobs that better suit the decor, a little bit of fret levelling plus setup as per Dan Erlewine book - plays and sounds great! Apologies for reflections of me and my bike in the pups!
