Lord Summerisle
Congratulations, that's a great looking guitar. That was always by favorite color / finish on a Sheraton.
antwhi2001
Congratulations on your excellent taste. I joined you yesterday, bought my first Sheraton, a 1997 Samick!
TWANG
The only thing I see that I'd change.. is the tuners. I left my korean sheri tuners in for many years.. but when I swapped out to grovers I was really happy with both the look and the tuning ease. Made a very good difference. sorry for fuzzy pics you don't have to get imperial knobs.. but I really like them on the sheri headstock TWANG
antwhi2001
It's the standard stopbar Peter, I usually wrap the strings that way. It doesn't make a big difference, possibly they're slightly easier to bend, and less likely to snap on the bridge saddle (I hit them hard!) AldoMcD1
I would like to install a gold frequensator tail piece on the guitar. Has anyone on the forum done this before?
TWANG
I've put in bigsbys. The only thing holding you up is how to cover the tailpiece bushing holes. some have gone with.. leaving them along.. putting a straight piece across the two.. some with logos or 'custom made'. and I like the idea of abalone, to match the inlays, dots. Otherwise it's just a question of drilling the holes on the end.. now.. sometimes the strap button hole isn't perfectly lined up.. so if you put the tail screw hole in line with it.. your strings wouldn't line up with the bridge saddles. in that case you put a dowel in the original hole.. line up your tailpiece correctly and drill a new hole for that. It's a good idea to string some kite string from the low e tuner peg..through the low e on the tail..over to the high e on the tail.. then back up to the high e peg.. you can be sure of string alignment that way.. and then just cut the string off. you can tighten this using the tuner peg, too. just tape the tail at the bottom with masking tape and don't make it so tight on the string that it pulls it up. After you get the first screw in.. tighten it some more to be sure it's exactly how you want it.. TWANG
InsideMan
Veeeeeery sexy guitar!!! I would like to install a gold frequensator tail piece on the guitar. Has anyone on the forum done this before? Don't do it, mate. This guitar is very versatile--it can sound hollow or it can sound solid. You will lose some of this with a trapeze tailpiece. Stick to the stop tailpiece. Cheers.
