Try counting how many pickups you have there o_o

Hint: Each humbucker is worth two XDD

Tak Matsumoto LP is one of the best, if not THE best Les Paul models out there. Matsumoto himself is freakin' awesome too.

Hi Ikis, well I agree that the TAk is a nice guitar I wouldn't go as far as saying it’s one of the best or the best. I actually prefer the Elitist Standard Les Paul Plus to the Tak. This is all entirely subjective though and I don't ever want to give up any of em! Here are some additional Tak Pictures for you:

svet... that's lovely. thanks for the additional pics!

I remember when the HAG tele came out. I remember him being on a Fender Frontline with it. I thought if I could have a tele it'd be that one. Seriously a beautiful guitar.

I just got done with some playing and hopped on here. I saw this thread.

We are very fortunate to be able to afford these instruments. and to have access to things like this forum where each day everyone geeks out to no end over them...I know, it's great!

I've always viewed guitars as tools for expression and as I've aged...therapy, as many others can agree with on here.

I mean, It's somewhat comical. the effect the DOT has is far different than say..my Hummingbird. the Bird says "Let's do some work" and the DOT, even just sitting with it(like i am now) calms me down, removes all the mental tension.

I think it's something about the pick ups in middle position with the lead tone pulled back a tad over half....

Some day I'd really love to have a 137. A Les Paul would be nice too..tele...................

Svet and Red, Holy S!!!!!! Beautiful axes!!! I've got a couple Elitist LP's myself, and now I can't play anything else! How are you liking the 65' Elitist Casinos? I think I'm going to get one soon (can't decide on finish though lol).

Wow Red!! I am in awe!! I love your collection and you sir almost gave me GAS but I am fighting! Not that it matters as I'm broke and can't afford anything new.

Thanks, Svet. I'm a big admirer of your collection: you have so many beautiful, high-quality guitars. I get GAS from your photos, and it inflates my collection!

I know what you mean about not being able to afford anything new. It's hard to fight the urge to add to the collection, since there are a lot of great deals available right now, as so many other people in the same situation are selling off their collections, and so many dealers are looking to generate cash. I'm giving thought to selling some things judiciously, so I can change my stable a little bit.

The Elitist Casino is excellent. All the Elitists are. In comparison to their USA counterparts, they are the bargain of the century. The other really great bargain out there (if you can call it that--it's all relative I know) is the Gibson ES 339. It's really well made and great sounding, and is bargain-priced compared to the bigger ES 335.

Red and Svet,

I am jealous, but if I had that many guitars, my wife would kill me. I have seven, and that is too many for her. I understand her point, but there is always that special one you just have to have.

Red - 34 guitars? Seriously, if you changed one set of strings every 11 days, you still would not be able to restring all of your guitars once a year. You do have some seriously nice guitars.

One question for the both of you. With a collection as large as yours are, how and where do you store them?

Doth[/quote'] Hi Doth, I have a small storage room that I keep my guitars in. They stay in their cases when I m not using them and the storage room has extra security in it through my house system. I try to keep the room at 70 degrees and 50% humidity year round with the use of a room humidifier in the winter and a dehumidifier for the damper months.

Someone who has an archtop NAMED AFTER HIM isn't fooling around, either. Do you have any pictures of it? I'd love to see that. And kudos on your L-5! Woo!

Red, the "InsideMan brand" thing is a little bit of a gentle joke.

I had the opportunity in 2005 to attend one of Dale Unger's (of American Archtops) week-long classes in Nazareth, PA. During the class, I built a Benedetto-style archtop. It was great fun. I'm afraid it is STILL in the white--that is, unfinished. I pull it out every once in a while to strum it (but not too much because I don't want to soil it). I haven't finished it because I don't have a booth or spray equipment and have been hesitant to try aerosol cans. Amazingly, an unfinished guitar really projects--much more than a finished one!

I'll see if I can photograph it soon and post it with my others. Cheers.

That class must must have been a blast. Building your own archtop is really something to be proud of.

Since you don't have a spray booth and don't want to tisk the aeresold, have you thought about a rubbed on violin type finish?

YES, pictures please!

red youve got a mighty fine collection there as well as svets..man i do like the look of svets prs' date='im thiking of trading a sg for a prs or the garry moore bfg=p~ [/quote']

Hi Ace, I really think the PRS is the better of the three. They are very versatile and you can go from a single coil sound straight to HB roar with the flick of a switch. They are also similar to the SG in that the upper fret access is unhindered and they are extremely lightweight.
