clarkuss
Has this got the slim neck like the Casino? Nice that it comes with the E Bigsby and the 57 pups as well as the Gold hardware (if you're into that). Not much of a Riviera though when you take away the mini humbuckers, the tailpiece and the white PG and TRC....

I own one and I don't know why they call it a Riviera. It is a 335 (or Dot) style guitar with a Bigsby. That being said it is a really nice guitar. I have owned Gibson 335s and this guitar is as close as you can get without it saying Gibson or Elitists on the headstock.
clarkuss
Once again a fountain of knowledge. Thanks very much for the info!

clarkuss
Sure is. Probably cheaper than buying a dot and doing it yourself and the build quality will be top notch as it's a Peerless guitar and you get that E logo bigsby. They crop up on ebay from time to time in the UK. One on at the moment. £
charlie brown
Nice guitar, but I never did know, why they called it a "Riviera?!" It's a Dot, with a bound fingerboard, and Bigsby. Wouldn't mind having one, though. CB
MarkW
A little late to the party...but I have had one for some time and it is a very versatile guitar. I would compare it more (as already stated) to the 335. The tuners stay in tune and the 57's are sweet. I had it before I got a 335, but the 335 did not sound that appreciably better and the neck was thinner than the Jorma. The JK has a nice comfortable middle plus size neck. Here is a pic of mine. clarkuss
Very nice. Neck sounds a bit too big for me but sure looks sweet!

I scored mine to replace my 68 Gibson 335 with the rectangle inlays and a factory Bigsby I sold off for cash to buy an amp in the late 80s early 90s. I owned a Dot when I bought the Jorma and there was no comparison, so I sold the Dot off. I also had this guitar at the same time as I owned my faded/satin red Gibson 335 I had to sell recently. There was just not much tone or sustain difference between the 2. Plus the Jorma feels like my old 68. I also own a Supernova, Peerless plant, and they are both better than the stock Dots, and I have owned and modified several through the years. The Jorma of the 2 though is my favorite. Vintage Guitar Magazine did a review several years back. I would have to go find the issue in my stacks somewhere. I remember it being pretty positive though.
