Axe2Grind123
Just wondering, the only specs I can find on Lucille say "2-humbuckers with Varitone". Does anyone know what model humbucker pickups come stock? and what they are comparable to in the Gibson pickups? I actually like them a lot, yes they sound dark but it works for me, I like the subdued "twangy" Chet Atkins kinda vibe I'm getting...

Atkins used P-90's same as Travis and Les Paul, Joe Maphis...
RotcanX
The Lucille should have a pair of Epiphone's 'Alnico Classics'. This is standard practice for archtops and is the same as on the Dots and Sheratons. Good news is that they don't install one of their 'Hot' Classics in the bridge position; the latter tend to be muddy and undefined in the midrange. Cool thank u, wanted to know in case I want to install them in other guitars, they sound very nice for stock and are probably fairly cheap to boot... animalfarm
I have a 2008 EPI catalog at home, has pretty detailed breakdown of what pickups in each guitar.... Will check. If memory serves me correctly, 1. Alnico Classic is "57CH (G)", 8.6K, DOT Bridge/Neck, LP Neck 2. Alnico Classic Plus is "HOTCH (G)", 13.6K, LP Bridge I ebayed a set of these for $18.00 + $10.00(?) shipping, EPI pups are plentiful on ebay, price varies depending on seller. animalfarm
...and you paid exactly $28.00 too much:-" Nah - I didn't have a way to "liberate" a set from any local guitars (liberate = obtaining set without consent of owner), and I've seen similar sets going for $40-50 +. What WAS a crime were the DEAN pups they replaced, feather-weight crumbuckers slapped on as stock pups. I could have made better pups by winding a copper wire around a nail... Hey!!!! Hmmmmm....
