DJB08
I saw the pickguard polish thread... I typically don't polish my guitars.Thought, i think the acoustics could use a little help. I wipe my DOT down with a micro fiber cloth and that works just fine. But, I'm wondering what polishes are out there that are best for electrics? Which is best for acoustics and Does it depend on your guitars finish? thanks David

RotcanX
I swear by GHS Guitar Gloss. A couple of drops is all it takes to get a beautiful finish. It will even remove grungy blue wax build-up in larger doses. I thought my '78 SG had been ruined beyond repair with wax polishes but GHS Guitar Gloss brought it back to a perfect shine. Dennis G
I tried Dunlop formula 65 based on a recommendation here, I think. It's good stuff and a little goes a looooooooooooong way!!!
clarkuss
I never polish my guitars with a product. I probably should...

ef_in_fla
I use the Meguiars car stuff from the "step" system. Step 2 is a polish which I never use unless it's on an old dirty guitar. Otherwise it's just a few coats of Step 3 which is a pure carnauba wax, a couple times a year.

clarkuss
old school : spit haha! yes. i sometimes wipe mine down with clothes from my dirty laundry basket too. To be honest' date=' I don't want too many shiny guitars. I want a couple to get that nice aged, sunkissed look. Dylan1281734152
I had never really polished my guitars with a product until just a few months ago. I bought a bottle of Lizard Spit, and I've actually been quite impressed with the results. I have nothing to compare the stuff to, but I thought I'd add my 2 cents to the thread. mbrooks0711
I bought the dunlop system 65 polish kit. You get 2 cloths, the basic polish that Dennis G mentioned , some carnuba wax stuff, 2 fretboard conditioners (for non-maple fretboards), and a bottle of some string saver stuff. All in all for $25 i'm very happy with it.
