STILL haven't SEEN any photos of this miraculous find/[purchase! So...

It could be just another "Fish" story! You know...like "I caught one THISSSSSS big!"

CB

Two Whitebait fishermen in a bar. After a few beers, one of them stretches his finger and thumb on one hand as far as he can, "Man, it got away, but I'm telling ya - it was this big."

Perfect Mint '66 Cassy.

Well' date=' I looked around for a close example.

Condoning the fleecing of a 77 year old' date=' a new forum low.[/quote']

Who asked anyone to condone anything? Can't we just let the guy tell us about his new guitar without all the self-righteous rhetoric? At this point he's probably pretty sorry he ever came near this place!

We had upgraded windows installed in our home and it ran some $$$$$$$$......

I do not see anything so terrible in what MotownTom did..... And it was the old dood that made the offer for services rendered....

Hell I would have shaved my legs, throw on some 6" spiked stilettos and purple lingerie for the old dood, and danced my-*** off to Boogie Nights for that guitar........... just as long as I didnt have to sleep with him8-[

I'm not really interested about waxing morality on an internet forum. If my friend had done this I would have probably made a few cutting remarks about his sense of decency (not sure whether they'd be jealousy or genuine chastizing) but I just want to see the guitar now.... Leave the fate to the Gods.

Come on man- Fleecing 77 year olds is what window salesmen do.

Perhaps he 'came near this place' to show off!

I'm sure he can take the stick- they've got very thick skin these salesmen.

Me, I'm jealous as hell!

Absolutely! Who cares about the provenance of an artifact' date=' provided that the thing itself is beautiful? And your fatalistic view seems most apt...

After all, there are some prominent examples out there....

Heck' date=' I don't dream about finding a Mustang in garage. I dream about finding a Chevy Chevelle in a garage. A Mustang ain't no muscle car where I come from. This isn't California...

My 65 fastback eats and spits out Chevelle's all day long...... So when you get your Cheby, I'll give you 10 cars and the go, and I'll still whoop ya by 20 cars.:D/

Well you know people think about things too much. One guy is happy because he got the guitar of my dreams for $300 and the other geezer is pleased because he saved a few bob on his windows. ignorance is bliss. We'll all be dead in less than a hundred years.

I'll take your word on that Duane.

Unfortunately, I think a Chevelle is out of my reach anyway, although I am looking for some muscle...

Perhaps one of the poorer cousins...

Buick Skylark?

Oldsmobile Cutlass?

We'll see...

Envy your 65 fastback though!

Buick GrandNash is what you want if you want to scare yourself.... Just upgrade the turbo (25-30 psi), 3800 stall converter, and cool the intake charge with a 100 dry shot of nitrous..... and some sticky tires...... Your eyeballs will hit the back of your skull upon launch

Now now, I had two Ibanez guitars that were gathering dust just as old '77's Casino was gathering dust bunnies. I gave both guitars to my church (that's $0). Hope that my pastor doesn't take heat for fleecing me.

Particle board Artcores, perchance?

One was a blue solidbody that cost me about $400, and the other was a slim Artcore with no discernible grain to the wood(?). Never have found whether it contained actual wood or composite board. I'd feel better if it had been 100% recycled products, like their toxic sheetrock.
