schotness
Is it possible to clean up Junior Combo with an eq pedal, if so what sort of settings/shape would you recommend? thanks.
m-theory
An eq would help dial out some of the mushy, flabby bottom, and bring a bit of articulation to the high end, but it's only going to reduce the excessive gain if you dial the output down. You'd probably find benefit from significantly reducing low end frequencies, perhaps giving a SLIGHT boost in the upper mids, and another boost in the 3-5k range and perhaps a bit higher as well. You'll be able to quite easily identify offensive frequencies in that amp, by simply zeroing all sliders and moving them up and down one at a time. Be aware that just because they go UP doesn't mean that every slider has to be above zero. You're often better off cutting offending frequencies rather than boosting desireable ones.
