The 'Best' Epiphone Double Cutaway Semi/Hollow

Okay so the question is pretty straightforward. We get a lot of threads on here with people asking what is 'better' so please leave your vote here including WHY

My vote goes for the Casino. This is mainly based on the fact that it offers something completely different from the rest although I've yet to get anywhere near a Riviera P93 so my experience is somewhat lacking. I just think the Casino does something that isn't as easy to find in the other models and other brands of guitars. Plus it's lightweight and has a slim neck and good choice colours.

I have to say the Casino... I love the neck, I love the P-90s. I've played a handful of Dots and Dot Studios, and they just didn't do anything for me.

I would be interested in the Riviera P-93, but $500 is still a bit of money to gamble on something I may or may not like.

I didn't like that the Dot studio didn't have a separate volume for each pickup. I couldn't live without that necessity. I liked some of the colours though. I sometimes crave the chunkiness of a Dot or a Sheraton though. I need to get my dot deluxe back into action...

I had a Dot for about 3 weeks. Traded it back in for the Casino. I like the Casino neck, it is pretty close to my Firebird's neck. The Dot neck seemed a little thicker. The P90's are okay, but I would like to hear how the Casino would sound with Humbuckers. And I like weight of the Casino over the Dot. My Casino is going in the shop in a few weeks for a set-up, and new 3 way switch , bone nut, and new jack. I'm not sure if I want to change the pots and wires. Reading the posts here and at MLP forum it seems to be running about 50/50. I'm really looking forward to see how much better it plays and maybe sounds.

Like human individuals, guitars are unique in their own right. Within the same model, you will have drastic variations in weight, tone, feel and looks. That said, I vote for the Dot Deluxe. Just because mine is one of the finest guitars I've owned. And I've owned some fine ones. I only wish it was lacquer finished instead of poly. My advice is do like the celeb artists do, go to a shop, pick out a model and try every single one of those guitars of that model. Close your eyes and have a friend hand them to you one at a time. Then go from there.

Sheraton. For me it has top be a semi-hollow rather than a full hollow because of the feedback issues at gigging volume. I also prefer slimmer bodies to the deeper ones. The Sheraton is really solid but comfortable to play, and you get more bling than a Dot.

I voted for the Lucille. To me, the Lucille and the Sheraton are a toss-up ... essentially the same guitar with a couple of cosmetic and one small electronic difference. I love the Casino, but I'm just not crazy about the current batch being produced. One of these days, I'll find an Elitest or at least a Korean-produced model (or find some old guy with one tucked under his bed) and then I may have a different opinion!

My vote goes to the Lucille!

still made in korea? (I'm not sure)

Bought mine in September 08 and it's made in China. Imma decline to answer this poll as unfortunately I do not have enough experience with these semi hollow/hollow guitars. I will though, just as soon as that lottery ticket comes through for me . . . [-o<

I voted for the Riviera but for me it is very very close between the Riviera and the Casino because I love the tone of both ( Humbuckers, Mini Humbuckers vs P90's). I guess what swung me is the fact that my Riviera is a bit more versatile ( atleast for what I play) . Great thread, I always enjoy seeing everyones take on this subject.
