Pighawker
I just looked at an Epi LP Std with the serial number 08081510692. Does anyone know what it would mean? I though they have letters in front of them and when I tried plugging it into http://www.guitardaterproject.org/epiphone.aspx it did not recognize it.:- Cheers

My new Masterbilt is like that as well.
Pighawker
Thanks Jerry, so it would have been made at the Qungdao plant in China then? Which is great because that is an all Epiphone plant.

Cheers[/quote'] It looks as if Epiphone is trying to be a little more cagey about their sources of manufacture. I'm guessing that they've gone from letter codes to numerical designators. For example, that serial might decode to 2008, August, plant 15, production number 10692. I suppose as time goes by and patterns emerge, the new serials will become obvious. HarpBoy
My Riviera has an '08 serial number (no letters) but also had a "Made in Korea" sticker on it, so I think Epiphone is just trying to obscure the country of origin with their new SN scheme. Lesson is: no letters in the SN doesn't necessarily mean MIC.
