steve barnabas Posted May 8, 2009 Author Posted May 8, 2009 n then... what is d character from each type? thanks
RotcanX Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Expect the Dot to be mellower, more full-bodied; expect the '56 to sound more like a chunky Strat. Remember all the '60s stars that used 335s... Eric Clapton, Alvin Lee, Chuck Berry... And what's with the letters instead of words? Very hard to understand your question when you type like that...
GaryM Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Here is a YouTube video that is a fine example of stock Epiphone Dot tone.
RotcanX Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 I think, in a nutshell, that while the Dot is a very versatile guitar that won't let you down through almost any style of music except perhaps country, the '56 GT, while a very nice guitar, is nonetheless more of a 'one trick pony'. I would buy the '56 to add another dimension to my sonic stable but I'd definitely get something like a Dot first, especially if I already had a Strat in my collection.
