rainydayonline Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 So I have the Valve Jr and I'm very happy with it but I miss my FX loop. I really loved the sound of my old Alesis Midiverb 2. Could I run the line level midiverb signal into the front end of the amp without damaging anything and would this sound okay? -Jesse

rainydayonline Posted May 11, 2009 Author Posted May 11, 2009 Thanks, I just didn't want to mess up my amp. Tried it out and it sounds great. Thanks again!
rafaelh Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Not much choise to go up front if you don't have an FX loop. I ran my Midiverb through the front of my Princeton for many years with no issues. Just got tired of dragging a rack unit so went with a pedal...Holy Grail FWIW. I've only demode the Valve Jr and they get pretty gainy once they get turned up. You might not like how the Midiverb sounds if you push the gain up on the Jr having it after the verb....some folks don't. I personally don't care for reverb before a gain stage myself. My Princeton can go up to 10 and will stay clean, so this set up worked fine for me with that amp.
