2poor2gig Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 I recently bought a really good condition SKB plastic hardshell case for my Epi Dot (it's the black plastic hard case with the red sticker and chrome locks). Since I bought it at a garage sale when I was travelling out of town, I wasn't able to test it out with my Dot for fit. Big mistake. Anyways, when I brought it home, it seems like the Dot's headstock is like an inch too long to fit in the case. Has anyone compressed or cut the foam near the top of the case so that the Dot has adequate clearance for the headstock? There seems to be about 2 inches of foam between the top of the plastic case and the headstock so it might be possible to mod? Thanks for any suggestions!
pohatu771 Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 Without knowing exactly how the case is constructed, you could probably pull the lining up and modify the foam. I've modified my Strat's case, but I imagine it was a bit different.
