HELP needed.........looking to buy guitar and found a used Epiphone SG (looks like Gibson SG) any opions on quality and fair price range

It depends on which model SG it is. What model is it and what is the asking price?

You might find a used SG Special for around $75. A G-310 might go as high as $150. Prepare to spend $200 - $250 for a G-400. The G-400 is the one with the glued-on ('set') neck and it's really the only one you should consider, although a G-310 isn't a bad starter.

I have had 2 Epiphone G-400 series and like them alot.....will run you anywhere from 400-600 bucks.
