Wiring for a casino w/Bigsby

Hello all, I gutted a factory 2nd casino that I bought on the internet and need to know if there is a better way to wire the beast as far as noise goes. I had the P-90's wound at Lollar, and want to improve the wiring with new pots, switch's and jack. Am using braided wire on all. Do I wire using a Les Paul schematic or should I use something more specific? Also, how do I ground the stings? At the Bigsby or the bridge? What about caps? Hoping someone can help.

What kind of noise are you experiencing?

The Casino is wired exactly as a Les Paul' date=' unless they've used lower-value pots due to the single-coil pickups. The ground should go to the tailpiece, through the end of the guitar.[/quote']

The wiring Epiphone used was not the best, and I'm being kind there. Would like to cut down on general noise from cheap wiring.

You start with your pickup leads.. best if sheilded.. not all are.

And you have to ground one end of the sheild.. not both.. to a ground spot.

Hot leads should be sheilded.. so that means to the switch and to the jack.

some epis have the ground wire attached at the tailpiece..I don't know where the casino is grounded, but either the bigsby or the bridge

will work.

There's a trick you can do. wiring in a resistor and a capacitor to the ground connection that leads to the bridge or tail.. keeps you from being

electrocuted. I forgot the values though, have to look 'em up.

let me know if you want to do that.

ground wires don't need to be sheilded, just the hot leads.

www.guitarelectronics.com has a two diagrams you can use.. the 'independant volume' diagram is the one I like the best.

you want to avoid ground loops, that can cause noise.

Metal covers help some.

If I were you.. I'd google as much about grounding as I could.. and use the phrase ground loops with guitar or casino.. and

you should find plenty .. also sheilding electric guitars..

or you can buy donal brosnacs book guitar electonics.. it has tons of well explained information you can use for years.

But generally.. the right guage wire... good shielding and no ground loops.. that's about all you can do on a semi hollow.

[/quote']Great info. Thank-you! I did this once already- with the ground loops- and man oh man! Thats what I was wondering about. Most site's tell you to wire them in. With all that wire in there, I'm surprised I couldn't get NPR.

Tell me more about the cap & resis. in the ground to the tail? Sounds interesting. What does it do to tone?
