Thanks for the tip on the HERO discount. I was teetering on the brink of buying and the discount pushed me over. I'm a drummer but I love guitars. It doesn't seem right that I own more guitars than I know chords. Guess I better learn a couple more. Cool forum. I just joined. David

Yes, indeed. Thanks for the 'heads up' on the HERO discount.

Man, my tax man had LOST my tax documents and only found them a couple of days ago. That was the bad news. The good news is that when he filled out my taxes they weren't nearly as bad as I expected.

So now I've got this HERO thing looking me in the eye#-o

Does anyone know if these will be available in the UK & Europe?

What a thing of beauty!!

My guess is that slow sales have prompted Musician's Friend to run an aggressive sale (note that the sale ends at the end of the month). As for the models, they should be available, but you can always ask Epi about it: service@gibson.com

Just got the $424 price for a P93 from MF too. You have to ask about the "HERO" deal. It breaks down like this:

10% off - $100 to $199.99

12% off - $200 to $449.99

15% off - $450 to $999.99

20% off - $1' date='000 and above

I got the P93 and the $89 Epi 335 HSC for $499.80 inlcuding shipping. That was good enough for me to break out the VISA. [u']Thanks for the heads up Crabby![/u]

I just got off the phone with Guitar Center and they are offering the same deal as MF.

$499 including case and free shipping.

I have a GC card and they are offering 12 months no financing on Epiphone products.

Which works out to $41.58 a month.

That's skipping two nights out at the pub per month.

That I think is a no brainer.

Will let you know and post picks if I go for it.

I ordered mine on May 19th and it is scheduled to arrive on June 1st. Unfortunately, I just found out about this deal. Do you think it will be possible for me to contact Musician's Friend and get the 15% off? [-X

I bought my amp from MF' date=' then a flyer from GC came and had it at a lower price. They adjusted it for me. It's worth a try....[/quote']

I was a bit hesitant since mine has been shipped, but I just found this on their website:

45-Day Lowest Price Guarantee

Buy with confidence. If you find a lower advertised price from any authorized U.S. dealer, call or email us. We’ll beat any verifiable advertised price before or after the sale. If you’ve already purchased from us and find a lower advertised price within 45 days of your purchase, contact us via phone or email and we’ll refund the difference after verification.

It's your God-given right and civic duty! When I worked electronics retail many years ago, we spent the better part of Saturday mornings writing up price match refunds.

Can any one here fill me in on how these things perform with overdrive/ gain?

I currently have an Epiphone dot, Eastwood Sidejack, and a MIM Strat.

I had a Casino for a short time, but volume/gain + hollow body=squeal.

I know this is a semi hollow, so maybe there is a difference?

Also how does the pickup selector work?

Aesthetically, very appealing.

I tried this once, and they didn't want to refund me, but they did give me a credit for the amount. Not a refund, but better than nothing.

i actually sold my dot to get mine, i got it and i can say it handles everything pretty awsome so far, I have a blackheart lil giant and i can make it scream, no feedback problems at all, I pluged it into my ac 30 and cranked the hell out of it just to see how the pups would sound , and its not bad at all, just recently I pluged it into my dads little tweed rouge solid state amp,( the dist on it is totoly crap) but the cleans sounded increadable on it, the middle pick up , when played with all of the others, gives you a realy crazy like gretsch sound and even sounds somewhat like my strats 2nd and 4th post, its a really sweet guitar the only thing i have to say is that the neck is a lil bit smaller than the dot, and i was just so used to my dot that i actually didnt take to the guitar that well, but ive had her for about 3 months now and i love it , if you plug it into a nice tube on clean with all the pups on it makes me what to play nothing but the meters all day long, the funky meters that is...........

My Epi P93 and case shipped from MF yesterday and are in transit. I ordered the 335 case assuming they would put the guitar in the case to ship. Seems logical right? But no, they are shipping separately. At first I was PO'd thinking my P93 was more likely to get damaged, but then I thought maybe the mfrs shipping box is just as good if not better for protection. Or perhaps it's easier for MF to get an insurance reimbursement if damaged in the original box rather than the case. The Bigsby may have something to do with it too.

Any thoughts?

Well mine just arrived from MF via UPS and had a broken headstock. The outer box didn't appear damaged, but the inner box was smashed a little down by the body. The headstock was cracked at the nut all the way across. They really don't pack these well enough. I'm not a happy camper. MF is sending another and I'm packing this one back up and shipping back.

ouch. I bought mine from ebay on january and it camr floating on the box. Very bad packaging but thankfully nothing happened.

Epiphone must have learned something from the first batch. There were many broken p93s from transit last time around...

According to the small print on this page, this deal excludes Epiphone products. So, how were you able to get this deal?

Mine shipped separately from the 335 case for good reason; the guitar didn't fit in the case due to the poor QC in making the case.

not all Epiphone stuff is excluded, just some.

Some products from Antoine Courtois Paris, Besson, Brio!, BOSS, Buffet, Crampon, Epiphone, Fender®, Gibson, Ibanez, Marshall, Meinl Weston, Roland, Sankyo, ToneWorks, VOX, Weril, and Zildjian may not qualify for this offer. Brands not participating are Andino, Apple, BOSE, Gemeinhardt, Fulltone, KORG, Paul Reed Smith, and Stephanhouser.

the "HERO" deal has been extended for a couple days, hurry.

Are the p-90's overwound/underwound ? Muddy, bright w overdrive, etc?

Inquiring minds...

Ah crap. Was it malformed, or just plain ol' didn't fit? Did you send it back?
