Epiphone Special Run Collection

The only one that really appeals to me is the p-93. Maybe I'll pick one up if the prices haven't skyrocketed since they first came out.

Been gassing for one of them since I joined the forum and someone posted some pics, love at first sight.

The Wilshire wouldn't be bad either, I know there's been a lot of people on here asking if they were ever going to re-release them, so they'll probably go pretty quickly.

In Australia we don't always get what you have available in the states either.

We should set up some sort of export program on the forum, to help out the less fortunate (guitar-wise, anyway) buy what they want.

If they can keep the price down on the P-93 and keep making them they will make a fortune. Look at the Squier Classic Vibe line, amazing quality guitars at amazing prices, and if you go on the Fender forums, everyone has one.

Oops, I started another thread, about the same thing. Sorry!! I didn't see this one, initially.

The only thing I'd like to see included, is a bit more description, and some relative history behind

each model...now, and in the future. I hope too, they'll keep it "Current," adding photos as needed.

But, this is good!

If the Epiphone administrators are watching...

Can you please reintroduce a good Firebird model, if only as a "special run"! Given the prominence of this guitar in Gibson's history, it seems a shame that Epi only make the Studio model at present, which does not have historic Firebird features such as the mini-hums.

I appreciate that a through neck may be impossible at Epi's price point, but a reintroduction of the Epi Firebird VII from a few years ago would still be very welcome.

A really interesting "special run," however, would be a non-reverse Firebird. This would seem to be a good choice, as the Gibson originals had a set neck...In production terms, such a guitar would not seem to be much more complicated to make than a G-400 or Wilshire.

"See your name here," Mr Epiphone...

One of these babies, with an "e" truss-rod cover instead of a "Gibson" one, fitted out with Epi P90s, and in the Epi price-range...I'd be camped outside my local Guitar Center waiting for them to come into stock...

I've seen the Eastwood Stormbirds and they are quite nice...

But an authorized Epiphone version of the Gibson original would be nicer still, I'm sure...

So please Mr Epiphone, make me a special-run Firebird I can afford...(!)

Not a silverburst fan at all so most of these leave me cold, especially since the LP Custom doesn't even have gold hardware... kind of loses the whole 'custom' allure that way. As to the Wilshire, it would be a whole lot more interesting if it had mini humbuckers. As it is, IMO it's just a G-400 that somebody has beaten with an ugly stick. But hopefully we'll see some cool models down the line, and all in all I think it's a great idea that they actually are including these models on their web site. Someone needs to check the specs though; the pickup information on some of them looks bogus to me. Either someone made a mistake entering the data or else someone made an even more serious error deciding which pickups to mount on some of these beasts.

The Casino with Bigsby should be a Dot with Bigsby...

If you want a Casino with a Bigsby, it's the easiest one to add it to - there are no holes to fill. With a Dot, you leave the stop-bar holes on the top.

Of course, a Casino with Bigsby is probably easier to market, considering the Paul/George connection.

I've always thought that a dark green Firebird would be soo nice!

Thanks for the heads up! Cool to see the acknowledgement ya know...

No problem. And if you haven't already, you should really subscribe to the "e-letter" from the main epiphone page! That's where I got the image I first posted, from one of their messages.
