wheatlands Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 :D/ Just got my casino back from the shop. He did a setup, polished the frets, changed the 3 way switch and put in a new jack. I also had it set up for 11's with a wound G string. I can't believe the difference. It sounds way better then before and plays much easier. I didn't notice that much difference when he did a setup to my acoustic. Maybe it wasn't that far off. I probably should of had him change the pots and wiring while it was there, but I don't seem to be having a problem now. I'm still amazed at the difference, the money was well spent. Maybe a Bigsby for the casino is in the future. :D/
bluelake07 Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 I will also sing the praises of a good setup...fortunately for you, you can't hear me sing. When I had a bone nut installed on my Casino, he asked if I would (for an additional fee) like it setup and I unhesitatingly said yes. You see, I had installed new saddles and tried to adjust them myself, but playing barre chords up the neck I knew I didn't do it well. So, he did the whole setup thing and when I got it back I was just as pleased as you are.

What kind of luthier installs a bone nut then doesn't set up the guitar proper as part of the install?
