Scarf Joints

Now that I have my first Korean made guitar - 56 Goldtop, I noticed the scarf joint on neck is located about 3 frets down from the nut.

Whereas, on my EE 07 series LP (which I sold to get the Goldtop), the scarf joint was directly behind the nut on the headstock.

If the neck were painted, like my Dot Deluxe, I wouldn't have noticed. Not a big deal, but I had to give the GT a good once over while

I was polishing it and noticed the difference.

Even more importantly, I noticed the difference in p/u's. P90's are incredible. That's why I sold the Standard LP and kept the Dot. Plus,

the Goldtop is just plain cool. I couldn't tell enough difference plugged in between the two, to feel the need for two humbucker guitars.

And I'm really, really trying not to become a collector. I going to keep trying to go with the "one in, one out" system.

But as I searched for my P90 equipped guitar, I struggled choosing between the Casino and Goldtop. Those Vintage Sunburst Casinos are

beautiful. I'm going to try to put it out of my mind now.
