Casino: why the difference in F hole sizes?

Wouldn't be anything to do with the construction materials would it? Remember the F holes are shaped that way for a reason. And if I remember rightly, the MIC and MIK guitars are constructed of 3 ply maple, whereas the Elitist and MIA guitars are 5 ply maple. So perhaps the F holes on the MIC and MIK guitars need to be slightly larger for them to serve their purpose correctly, due to the difference in construction, whereas the Elitist and MIA models require the smaller F holes.

I'm probably way off. Parabar's suggestion would make more sense.

My guess is it's done on purpose... They don't want the guitars to look 'too' good (if you know what I mean). Maybe they want the cheaper versions to look a bit sloppier made or cheaper looking... I was wondering the same thing, some Dots for example have HUGE F-holes and I have no idea why, just looks stupid in a way, not as sleek and elegant than on the Gibsons...

I hadn't noticed the difference in f-hole size until you guys brought it up my MIC Casino's f-holes are 6 1/2 L X 1 1/8 W at the middle the 1965 John Lennon is 6 1/8 X 1 I'm inclined to think that it was a cost related decision also.

Can't be the case, sorry, since the 90s MIKs have very narrow f-holes (see mine on the left).
