MaxHart85231281734137
Ive seen this mod out there from one or two diff companies , and for the most part what i have read is that the new SS rectifiers and just as good if not better than haveing a tube rectifier on the amp.......is this true? what or how will my tone/amp benifit from replacing the ss rectifier with a tube one thanks! ehedwr
There is no benefit in my opinion. Tube rectifiers aren't cheap, they don't last forever, can be unreliable and cause sag when the amp is pushed hard.
Eracer_Team
the little giant is pretty much the same as the VJ is just that its got a tone stack and most of the stuff corrected that the VJ didn't have. on a single ended amp such as the LG or the VJ it's my understanding that the amp will not produce any 'sage' on a tube rectifier. In a SE amp the output tube is running full all the time where as a push pull amp loads the power supply differently. so to answer your question.. a tube rectifier should not help a VJ or LG at all.
