Standard or IbJL Casino?

Ok. So I have always wanted a Casino. Actually I owned a MIK model for a few days a couple years ago, but that's another story. I got a Fender baja Telecaster earlier this year and although I love the sound of the guitar, I need to part with it due to some shoulder/back issues I've started having. It's a heavy one too. I got it for less than the original street price of $800 -- now the MAP on these is $1100.

The question I have is, do I go to a shop and trade it straight across (more or less anyway) for a standard Casino? Or do I go to the trouble to sell it on my own (eBay, craigslist, etc) so I can get a hundred or so more out of it and pay the extra $300 out of my pocket for the new Inspired by Lennon Casino?

Keep in mind I want a sunburst.

Anyway, I'm curious to know what you guys think. The standard Casinos look pretty sweet these days, the sunbursts are as nice as I've seen in a long time on the standard models. But the IbJL Casinos are sweet too and more to vintage specs with what seems to be a decent upgrade in electronics and contsruction. But is it worth the extra hassle and money out of pocket?

Not sure what to do!

How important is a Casino to you? Will it just be a guitar you'll pick up just for variety once in a while or will it be your (or one of your) main guitar(s)? I think that if it will get played a lot and you plan to keep it for a long time, save a while longer and get the IbJL, otherwise the regular.

Because you love the sound of a Tele, but not the weight you might look into getting a pine body (pinecaster).

I think if you dish out a lot of cash for something, you'll put that invest to good use. In this case, the more you pay for a guitar, the more (hopefully, for some of us at least) you'll use it.

My Casino is a standard 2006 MIC. All I can tell you is that it is a very, very well made guitar. I can only expect the IBJL Casino's to be so much greater.

I've got a major amount of GAS for a Sunburst model as well, go figure.

I'd bite the bullet, be patient, and save up.

Keep your Tele, unless it's really that much of a burden on your back and shoulders. Otherwise, part with it.
