TWANG Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 I'm starting on one of these, but the threads I read seem to indicate some arugment concerning layouts and parts values. I've got this as a start.. http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f218/WORM1595/seel34amplayout001.jpg and this: http://www.sewatt.com/files/sewatt/the_beast_layout_107.jpg and this: http://www.sewatt.com/files/sewatt/beast__1_279.gif lot of 6V6 stuff there.. but nothing clear so far about a final EL34 I want to get a parts order in since I need a few things and may as well add what's different for this build onto that. Gotta get a tube, too. TWANG
cGil Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 EL34 versus 6V6? I think all we're talking about is swapping the bias resistor. 250r/5w should work just peachy for an el34. I've tried 220r, but the PT was kinda warm. Basically, it might need a fan or a flipped cab to get the heat off the tube. Gil...
