Elitist J-200: Strings?

I just bought an Elitist J-200. I've never owned or even played a J-200 before, what flavor of strings sound best on them? I don't assume the usual strings I use on my mahogany and rosewood dreads of various flavors. I might even try flatwounds which I like on archtops.

Congrats on you Elitist J200. I think you'll find it's an excellent guitar. I use Gibson J200 strings (in case you don't know, I don't mean to be smart, that's what they're actually called) or Gibson Masterbuilt Phosphor Bronze 12's on mine. The only difference between the two that I can tell is that the J200 strings have silk thread wrapped around the ball end, which protects the elaborate moustache bridge.

Enjoy yours!

The J200 being such a big box needs fairly hefty strings to drive it.

I use Bluegrass gauge(56-12).I wouldn't use anything lighter than medium light or Martin light(54-12).

A 52 bottom string is a waste of guitar & string!
