AS90 Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Lets get a good Elitist thread going, pics, opinions, questions etc all welcome! Who will be first?
EpiSheriMan Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Here ya go... Naked Elitist vrs. USA baby....
Svet Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 I'm quite fond of them and here is your proof:
brianh Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 I'm feeling dizzy...need to lie down....nghhh...
JefferySmith Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Two Byrdlands (Nat and VS), a VS Sheraton II, and a VS Casino. Those of you who didn't snap up a Byrdland while they were still available really lost out. I scoffed at them (Gibbies) back in the 1960's. Foolish teenager.
charlie brown Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Svet's picture posts always make me feel real sad............ Peter It's OK, Peter...Don't forget, HE has to keep them strung up, polished, and rotated, as a "player," too! That's a full time job, in his case. LOL! But, he does have an impressive "collection," for sure! CB
charlie brown Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 The closest thing to an "Elitist" that I own, is my "Assembled in USA" Sheraton II, below: I changed the tuner "buttons" (only), to the "Stairstep" version, just because I liked how they looked, on the "Elitist!" The only real difference, in the two, is the Nitro finish, and slightly different headstock outline/dimension, on the ASIUSA version...which is faithful to the original "Kalamazoo" version(s). The "Elitist" version is Great, though, for sure! CB
cunningham26 Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 ...waiting with bated breath for some elitist riviera pron.
charlie brown Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 ...waiting with bated breath for some elitist riviera pron. There is a "Sunburst" Elitist Riviera, on E-bay, right now (11-20-09)...first bid is $1,100 dollars... (I'd buy it, myself, but...I don't have the "expendible cash" needed, for that...right now.) ;>b CB
AS90 Posted November 21, 2009 Author Posted November 21, 2009 I'll have to take better pics of my Sherri...
Strumbone Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Dang, there should be a law against owning more than you can play! Just kidding...that's a nice gaggle of guitars!
JefferySmith Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Charlie, the closest thing you have to an Elitist is the MIJ Epiphone SG with lacquer finish!
Red 333 Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 I only have these pics hosted, so the Elitists are mixed up with some others, but here they are. My Elitist Byrdland and Broadway are the first two on the left on the floor. In this picture, the top three guitars are an Elitist Casino, Elitist Lennon Revolution Casino, and Elitist Lennon '65 Casino. An Elitist Dot is the second guitar from the right on the bottom row. In this picture is an Elitist SG, Elitist Les Paul Standard Vintage Sunburst, and Elitist Les Paul Standard in Honeyburst. Finally, some Elitist acoustics. On the top row on the right is an Elitist J200. In the center of the middle row are two Elitist McCartney Texans and an Elitist Texan. Red 333
Amino Moore Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 I'm in! Here's my Elitist LP Studio. I added the "Slash" cosmetics. This is one incredible guitar. The Elitist studios were basically forgotten compared to the rest of the line and the stock all black cosmetics didn't help that. I have only seen one other Elitist LP Studio in VS finish. All the rest I've seen have been black with black cosmetics.
charlie brown Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Charlie' date=' the closest thing you have to an Elitist is the MIJ Epiphone SG with lacquer finish![/quote'] Yeah, that's true, I guess? But, then...you have one of those, also...that we never seem to See?!...LOL ;>) Mine: (2006 MIJ '61 SG Standard)...made in "Elitist" factory, with "Nitro" finish CB
JefferySmith Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Yeah' date=' that's true, I guess? But, then...you have one of those, also...that we never seem to See?!...LOL ;>) Mine: (2006 MIJ '61 SG Standard)...made in "Elitist" factory, with "Nitro" finish CB[/quote'] When the dogs die, I'll bring my guitars downstairs as it will then be safe. If it's overcast tomorrow, I'll try some outdoors shots of it. Truth be told, since I've seen your official guitar-resting chair, everything else looks drab.
Red 333 Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Red Red Red' date=' How I love thee's collection![/quote'] And I yours. Elitists are AWESOME guitars. I'm glad I was able to get mine when I could. Red 333
charlie brown Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Yeah, what do you and Red DO, for a "Living," Svet?! LOL! (Just kidding...it's none of my/our business!) But, you've both got mighty impressive collections, going. Good Show! CB
Red 333 Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Yeah' date=' what do you and Red DO, for a "Living," Svet?! LOL! (Just kidding...it's none of my/our business!)But, you've both got mighty impressive collections, going. Good Show! CB[/quote'] Umm...you should talk! You have a fine, FINE collection of sweet axes, CB. Red 333
charlie brown Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Thanks, Red...."one of these days," I'll have to get a "group" shot done, like you guys have. I REALLY need to play them ALL, more! But, when you play (out) mostly in Bars, and small clubs, you have a tendency (at least, I do) to use/play what's not too expensive/risky, to replace...and, still sounds great! So...those, get played, the most. ;>b CB
weeladdie Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 I only gotz the one Elitist, the Tak Matsumoto LP. Here it is in the backyard sun....

pawwap Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 Hey EpiSheriMan. Liked seeing the side by side pics of the Sheratons early on this topic. Nice to look at and study the subtle differences between the two models. Pawwap
