plaintext
Hey guys, I found this guitar on Internet and I want to buy it ? The special thing is the "Zebra" pairs of pickups... :- Compared to other guitars, what is the class of it (beginner, medium, advance) ? How much it cost for a brand new one ? Find at: http://for-sale.yakaz.co.uk/r/?wIqvWcULcMiYqK8rZTMfEnAx23eQW5aJT%2F%2BJaBltwo5y0W7Gf4zfRwiKKHfJtZQemso4J5wphItAQ423jRw65m5EL0qrtChBHJnPpogigwLgvRI%2Fs5oNiOf5%2F06CxozGJmtEH4W%2FaIcLPCtXpd0amR0pc3X6oLjoXVVGL0Ee%2FMv%2BWRk2sNwSNAUSgm6d%2FoDYOQmn5ZxMEw%3D%3D
tgifntx
If it's the one I think it is... It's also stamped "Custom Shop"... Hmm... Thought I had a pic of mine here somewhere..? The worn finish, etc. Mine is the worn brown finish. I'll find the pic eventually. Swiped it for $85.00:-"
tgifntx
Hi and welcome here. First' date=' there is no real Custom Shop at Epiphone! The Limited runs are called 'custom' I don't believe that the value of this guitar will raise in future, cause there were only 500 made. SG-Special seems to have a bolt-on neck, I'm not sure. for about 10 bucks more you can get a new one with warranty! look: http://www.thomann.de/gb/epiphone_sg400_wc_egitarre.htm Peter[/quote'] Yes sir, Exactly right. It's a bolt on. I only saw the oddity with the one I have and actually soon to be "had" as bein' a LTD edtn. Didn't even realize there was such an animal..? Parabar
Those bolt-on Specials are usually decent enough guitars for playability and just fine for a beginning player. More advanced players usually want more in the way of tone and controls than those Specials are intended to provide.

plaintext
Any special function on the "White & Black" humbucker pickups ? Or just for better looking ?
fenrirlupus
Any special function on the "White & Black" humbucker pickups ?Or just for better looking ? Just look better... or that's all that has ever been proven about 'em... people have been claiming things ever since someone first ripped the covers off of a PAF... If you really want zebras, get a decent guitar and stick new pickups in it. If you don't know how, it's easy to learn... and a good experience to have... (although, if you should decide on something like a dot or sheraton, it's rather time consuming, because you'd have to pull all the pots through an f hole... so i'd suggest an sg or les paul for starters... or any other guitar with a removable plate behind the potentiometers...) plaintext
Yes, I confirmed this SG is made in CHINA. According to all guys' words, I think it should be a guitar for beginner and it doesn't have any superior features. Q: Is it worth to buy it USD $77.4179 in 2nd-hand price ? Similar to a normal Epiphone Special: ->
tgifntx
plain- Not really buddy... If I were you I'd get outta the "Special" arena altogether !(.02)! Take your time, Save your bucks and keep a sharp eye out. I guarantee ya', If you just poke around and under stuff, You'll run right into a good deal on a far better situation and be so much better off to say the least... Again- .02 I cannot tell you what I gave for this MK, You and everybody on here would be lookin' to strangle me! Patience and a little time... plaintext
OK, I've given up to consider the above zebra EPI. Instead, I choose to buy the following YAMAHA SGV-300 last week. It looks vintage and better than that EPI, right ?
midiman56
I think it's pretty cool looking, plaintext ... then again, I have a real penchant for odd-ball looking guitars! Harmony Central player reviews on this model are pretty mixed (aren't they always on that site?) ... players seem to either love it or hate it. Major beefs seemed to be with the tuners and the fact that the trem system was only supported by two springs. Mayby this can be beefed up like you can with a Fender. As for being better than an Epiphone SG Special ... well, that's really up to you, isn't it? Both are bolt-on neck, slim body guitars ... this Yammy will probably get a lot more "curious" looks than the much more traditional SG would. Good luck with it!
