altair
Wow, what a collection. I assume you gig too? I can't remember ever seeing that (semi?) hollowbody teardrop shape guitar before, can you tell us more about that one? How often do you get to play each guitar? freak show
Now that is a juicy collection of guitars and amps. All I can say is "WOW!" If I had that sort of stuff at home, I don't think I would ever leave the house!

bonzoboy
Thanks for all the favourable comments,I retired from gigging several years ago but whem gigging for 30+ yrs I put every cent I earned back into music, usually gear as you can see.I don't gig now due to developing arthritis in my hands, every guitarests fondest dream lol.The teardrop acoustic/electric is a circa '66 Vox Mk VI Acoustic, the closest I could get to Brian Jones' guitar as he was my favourite Stone. The L/H Strat is strung for right hand as I'm heavy into Jimi and we used to do a lot of Hendrix covers when I was gigging. The Jag is an "L" series 65 Jag one of the last pre-CBS Jags. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
bonzoboy
Oh I forgot to answer 1 question,I rotate my guitars regularly and they take turns getting played several days at a time after that's what they were made for.I am absolutely loathe to the idea that there are non-playing collectors/investors out there that have beautiful instruments just sitting in a vault in silence when they could be bringing joy into some musicians life. ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Svet
Sweet collection Bonzo! I try to rotate mine too but sometimes some get neglected. When I do a string change I throw one of the sting envelopes into the case storage compartment with the date of the change on it. This way I can keep track...... PS as a note, I hate the new script that Epiphone is using for their website. Somewhere along the way they changed to the same code as Gibson and now I need to keep refreshing in order for IE to load the images. I never had this issue in the past with Epiphone but always have had it on Gibson's site/
Hungrycat
Man, I LOVE that Guild electric. That thing just oozes cool.
bonzoboy
The Guild is a 74 S-100 SC (SC for special carved) it's the model Kim Thayill of Soundgarden used it's a neck through body all mahogany with a rosewood fretboard. The Hagstrom Corvette is also neck through body mahogany and has a very Strat like sound and an ebony fretboard their were less than 1500 made over a 3yr period, the action is unbelievably close, about 1/10 of an inch all along the neck with absolutely no buzzing. The Vox bass is the rare Astro IV Model V 273 with built in fuzz, bass and treble boost and a G tuner the neck is slimmer than a Fender Jazz Bass and the action is incredibly low also. The bass player in my last band offered his 72 Jazz and a 70 Gibson Hummingbird for it of course I turned him down. The little 3/4 size guitar is a 67 Dover,it's my 1st electric and doesn't have a single scratch or blemish,it's the only one I've ever seen.I'm a stickler for keeping guitars in mint condition,I always wipe them down after playing and am very fussy about who I let handle them. Strumbone
Wow! All I can say is Dayumm! There's got to be a law against someone owning that many nice guitars! Then again, since you play them all, I guess it's OK.
charlie brown
Dang!....Bonzoboy, you've got some FUN stuff! Congratualtions...even for just "keeping" them! LOL I hate the thought of what I've SOLD over the years...(So, I try NOT to think about it, much)...but some of that stuff, of yours, sure brings back memories. Thanks, for sharing! bonzoboy
A special hello to my fellow Canadians eh(it's funny but eh isn't used in NL our equivalent is"Yes b'y")the Paul amp was made by Pine Electronics in Montreal in the 60s there's a web site dedicated to Paul amps and others made by Pine but the name escapes me now.I made a little mod to the Paul so I could hook it up to my Marshall 4-12 or the Leslie'the sound is stunning, that little amp growls like a lion when cranked to it's full 3.8 wts. --------------------------------------------------------------
