jinx2
I think I want one... Anyone try one yet? Sound good?
johnl
They're only just now becoming available (and Zzounds is the only online dealer I've seen listing them as in stock, selling for $799). I'd definitely like to check one out.
jinx2
I've got a Buddy Holly 6 string. The Roy would pair up nice in my collection.
pohatu771
I'm tempted by one, but I have to play it first. So far, I've only found one 12-string that I actually like.

bonzoboy
I'd love to get my mitts on one and the price is way below the MSRP.
jinx2
The DR-212 has a solid spruce top, mahogany neck, back and sides, ivoroid binding on fretboard and body. It sell's for $169. The Roy Orbison sell's for $799. What are we paying extra for? Is it the name and the extras? Will have to see them both and compare.

Will have to see them both and compare.[/quote']Well, the DR-212 only has a "select" spruce top, not solid. I assume the Orbison model is entirely solid, like the Masterbilt line. It's probably a much higher-quality guitar. You also have the case, and other extras, of course, with a little bit of Orbison name thrown in. I haven't played one, but $799 is a pretty good price for a solid-wood 12-string. The Martin DX12 is $699, last I checked, and has HPL back and sides.
