I have a LesPaul Junior 90

Basically a bolt neck, caca tuner'd version of the '57LP Jr release a couple of years ago.

Since I bought it, Ive put on GFS vintage klusson style tuners, and replaced that god awful creme P90 cover with a black gibson dogear cover.

Plus Dunlop straplok buttons.

I really can say that MY #1 "Goldie" is getting jealous.

My blackheart killer ant stack with my EnglishMuff'n are singing and spitting with this simple budget beater guitar.

All you guys looking for a '57 Jr reissue that arent having much luck, might I suggest looking into this axe instead. (I know its bolt neck, but cmon!)

ANYWAY real reason for posting...

www.guitarelectronics.com

Go there. They sell individual pairs of straplok buttons for schaller and dunlop!!

Plus they have graphtech and tonepros stuff up the wazzooo.

Almost any little part you could want, they have.

Ya know how when using set screw knobs on split shaft pots, you get that off spot where the knob wobbles?

They sell adapter bushings to fix that. INSANE... I know.

Practically anything you could want...

And if you are looking for a place to grab those nifty little pointer washers for your epi LP, this is your site!

This is pretty much the modder in me ranting. This site owns. AND FREE SHIPPING once your order hits 50 bucks.

And if youre redoing the pots and jack and switch, thatll add up to 50 bucks quite easily. This is like, the best one stop shop for my guitar endeavors and I just had to share. I got my tusq nut and electronics for this epi LP jr today and i havent put it down since.

Damn, I feel like a kid who just found a stash of candy.

Sorry to rant, but if you want quality parts and awesome service, these guys have YET to dissapoint me. Sure, they may not have a ton of budget solutions like GFS does (thanks to jay!), but when I need an axe wired up USA style this is my parts depot!

How I agree with that. I sometimes think that guitarists can be a little precious with regard to guitars that fall outside of what is considered "correct" construction (although obviously not the open minded, well informed members of this forum).

It would be better if a bolt on neck version of a Les Paul Junior was considered an exciting addition to the range rather than a cheapo alternative. There's nothing wrong with a well fitted bolt on neck and if (as Fender would have us believe) The Strat is the most popular guitar in the world it hasn't hurt them any.

I've seen guys turn their nose up at a '57 Junior with a bolt on neck, and for that matter a similar old model Gretsch Electromatic Junior Jet, then drool over a MIJ Fender Esquire re-issue. Three guitars, all single pickup, single cutaway and bolt on necks but two are "rubbish" and the other "brilliant".

Old Harmony's, Dano's, Mustangs and Melody Makers were the cheapo guitars of their day but it doesn't stop people paying big bucks for them today.

For me, if it sounds good and plays good it is good. Nothing else matters.

hey Fender' date=' how do you like that killer ant head?, I have the little giant and I am either going to get another cab for it so I can have a mini full stack, or I want to buy the killer ant and do the bitmo mod to it[/quote']

I have a handsome DEVIL(hehe) head on the way, and already own the Giant and Ant.

The Giant is my recording amp. Using the volume to adjust clean Vs. crunch is perfect for layering on a cassette deck lol

The ant is what I use when its upwards of 10pm and I feel like jamming.

It really is amazing. It plateaus in volume at around 12o'clock and anything beyond is where you start to hear the tubes pile on the gain. Before 12o'clock the cleans are anywhere from mellow to spanky.

Its a decent volume to write music with and just jam around.

I find that I use it the MOST often out of my collection and use my stereo rig (ValveJr stack, Lil Giant head stack) strictly for recording or doing the odd open mic night at a bar.

The DEVIL is going to be the solution to me bringing along the two amps when Im at a gig with my drummer.

Gig= the 15w BH15H handsome devil

Studio/Recording= the 5w BH5H Lil Giant w/ the Valve Jr.(with reverb and mild chorus) to add some bulk and depth

drunk jams and idea time= theBH1H killer ant stack

everyday play= the killer ant wins again.

Awesome investment, if you enjoy the blackheart mojo, that is.

It takes pedals well, but the only one I ever use is a Seymour Duncan pup booster and or English Muff'n.

The amp does just fine at reacting to your fingers, and most of the time, I keep it purist style and just crank it.

You'll love it, but try it first.

Agreed .... I learned to play back in the late '60's/early'70's on a Harmony H-15 Bobkat .... wish I knew then what I know now and wish I still had it ..... was a great guitar, esPECIALLY for a kid...LOL. Two single coil gold foil D'Armond (???) pups, cool styling.... I still check them out on eBay..... someday, I'll have another. apparently Harmony has been "resurected" and is producing MIK versions of the Bobkat with set necks .... perhaps worth a look for me [biggrin]
