AlanH
Yea i will. I keep everyone posted. Before you pull the trigger you may wany to consider some of the competition which' date=' despite not being an Epi, does offer you a more close approximation of what you want: http://www.jhs.co.uk/reviews/TG_VR100CR_Oct07.pdf?issue=223659436 http://www.jhs.co.uk/vintageelectric.html As well as doing the double cutaway they also do a yellow single cutaway but the body is poplar and the neck is maple. They can be had for a lot cheaper than the manufacturer's retail price - about £160-£180 Alan
lpfan
Those are nice but I would go with 57' re-issue if you can find one. I have one and it kicks butt. It weighs a ton but I don't care , its mean!
7C
I was so fed up trying to find a decent set-neck Junior with a P90 I ended up getting a used Studio and replaced the bridge pick-up with a humbucker sized P90. Bring back the '57 re-issue! 7C
SketchyEtchy
I'm going to get the fit the neck with poxy or what have you, or take it to a specialist and get them to fit it and fill the holes. Then ile do the rest my self.
jonnyg
Brianh' date=' plywood? GAK ad says alder. I know nothing meself. Don't fancy it either.[/quote']Actually the ad says Alder "tonewood" whatever that is. I expect it's the same as Danelectros (love em or hate em) "masonite" sounds better to English ears than hardboard which is what we know it as. jefleppard
I believe they sold for $299 new - that was a freakin' steal' date=' should've bought two! Someone here or the Wiki said they got one new on closeout for $180. There's a whole thread on JRs with Gary's awesome mods over there: http://epi.p3net.net/bbs/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2659[/quote'] good thread. i've been watching them on ebay - specifically in tv yellow. this one just went for the BIN price very quickly. a friend has one. he swapped out the pups for seymour duncan dog ears. the guitar is amazing. http://cgi.ebay.com/EPIPHONE-LES-PAUL-SPECIAL-JR-p90s-TV-YELLOW-LIMITED-ED_W0QQitemZ230413003282QQcmdZViewItemQQptZGuitar?hash=item35a5af6a12 this similar one is up there now but it is stamped as 'used'. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110464101212&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT i emailed the seller asking what was wrong with it but have recieved no response. his feedback is 100% but still no answer.
