mr.chEn
Ive been going back and forward about whether or not i should install a bigsby on my lp.. its about 8 pounds as it is now.. so a bigsby would mean a back breakin' 10 which im not sure if i can handle.. but as of now i have no guitar with a good vibrato. anyways.. i want to see how they look on some of your guy's lesters, mine is honeyburst so if anybody has those, id love to see those. -Nolan
Riffster
This is the Epi Limited Edition I used to have before I bought my Gibson LP. (I'll be damned, I never noticed the bigsy forms an Epiphone "E" until now... Is there an equivalent to this horse shoe type bigsby for LPs? it looks like it would add less weight than the bigsby with the full tail.

Silverbursted
IMHO, Bigsby really detracts from the guitar. If you are looking for vibrato, I'd go with something along the lines of a Super-Strat (Charvelle, Jackson, Kramer (older), Ibanez), or a Musicman. Sorry guys, love my Les Paul...Hate the Bigsby. Riffster
Thanks, this guitar used to prompt a lot of compliments, it was a chick magnet too. My now wife insisted I did not sell it even if I was not going to play it, she wanted me to hang it on the wall as decoration. Strangely I tried to sell it on eBay twice and bids did not get over $280 can you believe that? I took the guitar to Sam Ash and they gave me a lot more for it...it looked better in person I guess. The thing with bigsbys is that you have to replace the bridge with one with rolling saddles, I did that on my Casino, now it works much better... The Stetsbar seems to be your best bet because it "moves alone" with the bridge, and you don't have to drill any holes or whatnot to guitar. NeoConMan
IMHO' date=' Bigsby really detracts from the guitar. [/quote']Finally we disagree! I would love a Les Paul with a Bigsby. I've been shopping for years trying to find a nice one at a good price. I prefer the long one, as on the new Page model, that wraps over the tail of the body. That little short one on the Epi's belongs on a Telecaster.
Gibson CS
Do Bigsby's de-tune the guitar? It looks like it would do it wicked fast.
joelettinger
once my guitar is in tune it stays in tune even with the bigsby but i will admit getting it in tune takes a little bit longer now. could be my bridge and nut tho.
NeoConMan
Their effect is not very dramatic, no dive bombing with a Bigsby. The strings don't take a huge beating so tuning stability is better than you would expect. Better than any of my American Strats for sure. I have a few Bigsby's on different guitars, I love 'em.
